"At Internationella Engelska Skolan I am getting a good education that really prepares me for the future." Simon, ninth grade student
IESU Junior Club
Welcome to IESU
IESU is proud to introduce our Junior Club Program and extend a warm
welcome to all grade 4, 5 and 6 students!
What is it? Junior Club is an after school care for grades 4, 5 and 6, where students can wind down after a long school day, hang out with their friends, meet new ones, try out new activities and have lots of fun in a safe, supervised environment! Each day, students will be provided with an after school snack, offered the chance to participate in different activities, do homework or just relax and play games and sports.
When are we open? Our Junior Club is open every school day from school ending until 17:30.
NB Junior Club is not open during mornings or non-school days.
What will we do?
The afternoon begins with an after school snack, after which children can choose to participate in organized activities such as computer lessons, sports tournaments, treasure hunts, drama, baking, crafts, movie-making, gong fu, origami, science experiments and more or they can choose to relax and play with the different games and sports gear that we have available. Children have access to our Junior Club Room where they can play chess, board games and cards crafts, pärlplattor and bead making, books and magazines, drawing, foosball/footballspel as well as our Outdoor Playing Area which includes a football court, a climbing playground with a swing, an outdoor chess board and a large grass field. Junior Club also links with other locations around the school, such as the Gymnasium, Ball Hall and Cooking Room, in which we offer special activities.
Pick up from Junior Club:
Junior School Entrance will be used for parents/guardians to pick up their children from Junior Club.
To ensure all children’s safety, each child is required to sign in and out of Junior Club every day. Therefore, if your child is going home directly after school and is not attending Junior Club on a certain day, we still require them to sign out on the sign out sheet and tell one of our staff before leaving the school. If your child is absent from school due to illness or other reasons, we will be advised by the school office. If you have organized for your child to go home with someone who is not specified on the information sheet that you returned to school, please send a note to school with your child on the day to let us know.
We believe it is important that the children spend time outside every day. Therefore, it is very important that you send the correct outdoor clothing to school with your child. At the moment, the children need a rain coat with a hood, rubber boots and rain pants. Later on when the weather becomes colder, they will need to have a snow jacket and trousers, and we think it is a good idea if they have a spare change of clothes at school in case they get wet. We will be going outside rain, snow or shine so you children must be prepared!
What is the cost?
3100 SEK per school term (semester)
How does my child sign up?
Just ask your Junior School teacher for the forms to take home, fill them out, bring them back, and welcome to Junior Club!
We would greatly appreciate donations of any of the following items of which you no longer have need at home: old shirts (to use as art shirts), games/puzzles/books/children's magazines, newspapers/magazines, age-appropriate books in English or Swedish, any craft materials or bits and pieces that could be used by creative young minds.
We want Junior Club to be a fun place to be for everyone, with activities that appeal to a wide range of different interests. We are always open to new members.
